Almost 21 years ago, Spike Lee's Do The Right Thing was released. Taking place on one block in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, on the hottest day of the summer, the film deals with mostly race relations. The main character, Mookie, played by Lee himself, is a delivery boy at Sals Famous Pizzeria, which has been on the block for 25 years. Sals Famous is owned by Sal (Danny Aiello), and his two sons Pino (John Turturro) and Vito (Richard Edson). Mookies day starts at the pizzeria, where is friend, Buggin' Out, is complaining to Sal about how his Wall of Fame consists of only Italian Americans, and no African Americans. He claims that since the neighborhood is predominantly African American, Sal's wouldnt exist without then. This presents one of the main conflicts in the film, representing the coexistence, or lack of, of White and Black America.
